Retired SFC Charles “Chuck” A. Giza Jr., 56, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 in Womack Army Medical Center.
SFC Giza was born in Roswell, NM on August 21, 1959, son of Charles Sr. and Penelope Giza. He served 22 years in the US Army and was a Persian Gulf War Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans and was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
His awards and decorations were many to include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6), Army Achievement Medal (4), Army Good Conduct Medal (7), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (K), Parachutist Badge, Army Basic Recruiter Badge with 3 Gold Achievement Stars.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Annette of the home; sons, Jason and Joseph of Fayetteville; his father and mother, Charles A. Giza Sr. and Penelope Giza of Ohio; brothers, Anthony Giza (Courtney) of Ohio, Tom Giza of Las Vegas and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7:00 – 9:00 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at LaFayette Funeral Home.
Burial with Full Military Honors will be 12:00 noon Thursday at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
