Carole Sue (Pullins) Herring

Carole Herring, 72, of Parkton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2024. Born on March 21, 1952, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Hobart Pullins and Sara Mae Dodson. Carole had a passion for working with children. She dedicated 25 years to driving school buses for Cumberland County Schools and faithfully served as the children's church choir director at Rockfish Church. She did the same at Lakedale Church of God, where she volunteered as the children’s church director as well. She and her husband also often drove the church bus to gather children who wished to attend.

Carole's greatest joy was raising her four children and imparting biblical truths to them and her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and even made all three of her daughter's wedding gowns. She was also a crocheter, ceramic painter, and creative writer. She cherished celebrating Christmas and other holidays with her family by making each get together unique and special, creating handmade gifts with love by Nana. Her unwavering faith and devotion to the Lord have left a legacy of spreading the gospel. As Carole often said, "My desire is to see all of you in heaven." She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Sara Pullins, her brothers, Roy and Hobert Pullins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Herring; her children, Nikki Herring-Swails (Mackie) of Laurinburg, NC, Richard Herring (Lyndsi) of Huntersville, NC, Vicky Rogers (Phillip) of Raleigh, NC, and Rachel Estrada (David) of Jacksonville, NC; her grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Swails, Chase, Ella, Julia, and Hudson Herring, Kailey and Andrew Rogers, and Eli Estrada; her sisters, Judy Beeler and Sally Dahlstrom; her brothers, Roger, David, Jerry, and Erle Pullins; and many other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM, Celebration of Life will follow starting at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Rockfish Church, 9949 Fayetteville Rd, Raeford, NC 28376, with Pastor Tony McVickers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution in memory of Carole to Liberty Hospice, 705-B Wesley Pines Rd, Lumberton, NC 28358.
