1Sg Wade Hampton Green, Jr. (Retired)

1SG Wade Hampton Green Jr., (Retired), age 65, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family.

Wade was born in Scranton, SC on July 11, 1952 to the late Wade Hampton Green Sr. and Mary Alice Bostic Green. Alongside Wade is 1 brother and 5 sisters.

He attended New Bold Elementary, Ferguson Elementary, Washington Drive Jr High, and EE Smith where he was in the marching band and played the trombone. Wade furthered his studies at Fayetteville State University (graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology)

He served in the military (US ARMY) for 22 years. He joined the military in 1973 and retired as a First Sergeant in 1995. He was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Ribbon.

He was married to Sun Green on October 4, 1976 in Seoul, South Korea.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sun Green, his three children – Wade Green III, Alisha Green, and Kevin Green-, His Sisters – Veronica (Clyde), Gwen (Curtis), Linda, Debra (Kenny), and Lisa. His Uncles Edwin and Charles Bostick and his aunt Jaqueline Bostick. Six grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Alice Green. His Father Wade Hampton Green. His Brother Wayne Theodore Green and his grandmother Lueally Bostick.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2017 at All American Chapel, Fort Bragg, NC.

Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at 12:00 Noon in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC 28310.
