1SG Charles ‟Chuck” Andrew Plowucha, (RET), 72, departed this life on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Chuck was born on April 28, 1948 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Vandergrift, PA with a strong love of his family and friends as well as a great pride in his Polish-Slovakian American heritage. Chuck was a US Army Veteran who retired with 20 years of distinguished service. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading thriller and historical novels, woodworking, and gardening, especially growing tomatoes and hot peppers.
Left with heavy hearts, but precious memories is his wife of 39 years, Edneral ‟Edna” of the home; his sister, Louise Plowucha of Vandergrift, PA; his step-children, Merle (Starlie) of St. Pauls, NC, William (Jawanna) of Fayetteville, NC, and Melanie (Norman) of Ormond Beach, FL; five step-grandchildren, Marquis ‟Mark” Hammonds of Shannon, NC, Megan Hammonds of Lawrenceville, GA, Kevin Dimla of the home, Emily Rose (Corey) of Fayetteville, NC, Serena Dimla of Myrtle Beach; six great-grand-children, Savanah, James Alex, Merlyn, Dillon, Layla, and Matthias; one step-great-great grandchild, Nollan.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Plowucha and Helen Bisaha Plowucha.
Funeral Services will be 10 30 AM Friday, December 18, 2020 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Dr. Lewis E. Wilson officiating.
Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
